Charting a New Path: Conservation, Disability, Collaboration, and Art
Dr. Aireona Bonnie Raschke will virtually join the Arts Collaborative from the Center for Collaborative Conservation, at Colorado State University, for a presentation and discussion about the importance of charting new, interdisciplinary paths in this current age of uncertainty. She will be holding the space to both tell her story, and explore with attendees the process of weaving many facets of ourselves into our work, the ways that this can create deeper impact, and how allowing ourselves to show up as “whole people” can help us refill our cups in times of change. Dr. Raschke’s story will bring together experiences with environmental conservation, disability, the challenging magic of collaboration, and the emerging energy of art in the places where all of that is coming together for her. She hopes that sharing this with attendees will inspire anyone also navigating disability, uncertainty in finding their place in the world, and/or looking for ways that art and science can work together to steward our Earth. Likewise, she hopes to create a discursive and exploratory space where everyone can take some time to consider their own path, share with others, and together build community and support around crafting interdisciplinary purpose and impact.
