ICE-Vision returns for its tenth year with all new screenings selected by philosophy major Thomas Finan and special 10th anniversary edition re-screenings of favorites selected by past curators.

Chris Marker’s deeply personal essay film/pseudo-documentary is a meditation on, among many things; time, memory, society, and the individual’s place within it. Seemingly random but intensely beautiful images from far flung corners of the earth (mostly Japan and Guinea-Bissau) are paired with a singular female voice as she reads and comments upon poetic letters sent to her from a globe-trotting cameraman. It is a radically non-traditional narrative style but the end result is, truly, awe-inspiring in the fullest.
