ICE-Vision continues with Film Studies major Daniel LoPilato’s weekly selections of eclectic, idiosyncratic, psychotronic, or otherwise eccentric excursions into world cinema.

Jack Nicholson stars as a talkshow radio jockey alongside Bruce Dern, his con artist brother, who hatches a real estate scheme in Atlantic City. An under-appreciated classic of the “New Hollywood,” this talky and reticent drama illustrates the style of filmmaking the offbeat (and commercially unsuccessful) studio BBS-Productions cultivated during the late sixties and early seventies, helping to launch the careers of screen legends like Nicholson, Peter Bogdanavich, and Dennis Hopper.
